Third best national university in science and engineering
The EVERIS Foundation has presented the results of the II University-Business Ranking, which gives an account of the opinion of 2,155 companies about 15,485 new graduates educated in 82 Spanish universities. The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is the 3rd best university in science and engineering fields, being ranked among the best 10 national universities in the two most popular degrees: 4th position in Administration and Business Management and 7th in Industrial Engineering. The UCLM is also the 8th university in which their graduates are more likely to enter the labor market in the region. To do this, 7 out of the 10 most demanded degrees are offered at the institution.
These 10 most requested degrees focus more than half of the contracts signed by the companies. In this regard, the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) offers degrees in Administration and Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Technology Engineering, Nursing, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronic Engineering. This ranking edition, which is based on recent surveys conducted in the months of April and May this year, shows a sharp increase in demand for engineers by the companies.
As for fields, the UCLM precisely stands out in science and engineering, being placed as the third best national university by companies, only surpassed by two polytechnic universities, the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, exceeding in several positions to some universities such as the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Complutense University of Madrid with a much expanded long career.
The report, which only selects the top 10 universities among 82 in each field, emphasizes that the two most popular degrees account for the fourth part of all contracting companies. In both cases, the UCLM appears in this select group occupying the 4th and 7th positions in Administration and Business Management and Industrial Engineering, respectively, such degrees obtaining outstanding scores on most campuses and faculties at the regional university.
The UCLM also excels in offering adapted degrees frequently demanded by the regional companies, since 89.8% of graduates are in the labor market in Castilla-La Mancha, ranked in the 8th national position and exceeding by nearly 20 points the national average.
