Highest rating in regional engagement, employability and lifelong learning
The new edition of the ranking promoted by the European Commission, U-Multirank, shows the progress of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) in all areas analyzed, with particular emphasis on those related to the education quality. The UCLM stands out on issues such as the employability of their graduates, graduates working in the region, the student mobility, internships, graduation rate or continuing education. Regarding the previous edition, the UCLM improves in the 5 dimensions analyzed, being average or above it in 18 of the 28 indicators evaluated.

The UCLM moves back one position according to the BBVA Foundation and IVIE
The U-Ranking 2016 edition, developed by the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute for Economic Research (Ivie) shows that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) just dropped one position till the 22nd position in the Spanish University System, being analyzed 61 universities. Of all three teaching, research and innovation dimensions taken into consideration, the UCLM stands out in areas related to research and has more room for improvement in those related to innovation.

36 positions improved to stand 174 in the world
The 2015 edition of the international ranking GreenMetric shows that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is ranked 11th among the 21 Spanish universities voluntarily evaluated on sustainability and environment. Globally, the UCLM is on the 174 position from a total of 407 universities from 65 countries. Of the six dimensions evaluated, the UCLM particularly stands out in education and research related to sustainability and the environment, occupying the second position nationally and 29 worldwide.

A report has been presented
The Social Council of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) held a plenary session this morning at the Campus of Albacete with the presence of its president, Emilio Ontiveros, during a session in which the professor of Applied Economics at the University of Jaén, Juan Hernández Armenteros, has presented the report on the status of the regional University in the Spanish University System. Similarly, during the plenary session they have appointed the permanent commissions of the Council.

Regional presence and involvement with the production system according to U-Multirank
The ranking promoted by the European Commission, U-Multirank, highlights the commitment with the regional development which recognises the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), when compared over 1,200 higher education institutions in the second edition of this classification, published in 2015. The UCLM reaches the highest rating in two out of five indicators that make up the dimension ‘Regional Engagement’ of this ranking, placing other two in the immediately following outstanding level. The proportion of graduates in bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees working in the region, the internships in companies and institutions of Castilla-La Mancha and the incomes from regional sources are some of the aspects in which the UCLM comparatively stands out. The UCLM is also prominent in other dimensions such as the international mobility of students within the dimension ‘International Orientation’ or the income from continuous professional development in the dimension ‘Knowledge Transfer’. The 2015 edition of the ranking URAP indicates that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is ranked 696 worldwide in research performance, whereas within the Spanish University System (SUE) occupies the 27th position. The 2014 edition of the international ranking GreenMetric indicates that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is placed 12th among the 21 Spanish universities voluntarily evaluated on sustainability and environment. Globally, the UCLM is positioned 210 from a total of 360 universities from 62 countries. Out of the six dimensions evaluated, the UCLM especially stands out in education and research related to sustainability and environment, in which it is nationally ranked in the first position and eighth worldwide. The 2015 edition of Scimago Institutions Ranking (SIR) indicates the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is ranked 15th, among the 59 universities analyzed in the Spanish University System (SUS) on scientific publications. Globally, the UCLM is among the 600 best universities, being ranked 577 from a total of 2,838 higher education institutions. In the last four editions, in the time period from 2011 to 2015, the UCLM has maintained the 15th position among Spanish universities and advanced 16 positions in the global university landscape. 69% of new graduates with an occupation are working in the region
The EVERIS Foundation has published a study on employability highlighting the education received by the graduates of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), by placing it among the top 10 of a total of 72 universities analyzed. The UCLM stands out in the education provided to its graduates on Science and Engineering studies and Health and Welfare, according to the opinion from a total of 2,000 companies surveyed. The study, which analyzed 21,637 hiring of recent graduates conducted from 2011 to 2015, also reveals that 69% of UCLM graduates surveyed are working in companies located in Castilla-La Mancha. The 2015 edition of the THE ranking has, for the first time, selected the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) among the top 800 universities in the world, occupying leading positions in Citations (571), International Outlook (612), Industry Income (661) Teaching (714) and Research (724). Within the Spanish University System (SUE), the UCLM is ranked in the 18th position among 78 universities, from which only 25 have overtaken the required score to be selected. The 2015 expanded edition of the Shanghai ranking indicates that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is ranked 23 in the Spanish University System (SUE), having advanced two national positions within a year. This progress is also highlighted in the international scene, having advanced 9 positions to stand in the 748 position in the world. The UCLM improves 29 positions according to the Webometrics ranking of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)
The latest edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, elaborated by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC, according to the Spanish acronym), includes again the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) among the top 500 universities in the world, a select group with just 22 Spanish universities. A reduction of just 460 students amounted in the last 6 years, 1.75% less
This is the first academic year, after six years, in which students have made their enrollment in a normalized framework after concluding the Bologna Process, producing nearly equal figures of students enrolled at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) to those at the beginning of this process, with 26,327 students in 2008-2009 with respect to 25,867 students in 2014-2015. Those students enrolled in PhD or Continuing Education programs have not been included in this counting though by doing so, the regional university reaches an average of 30,000 students. According to the 2015 report of the IUNE Observatory on research in the Spanish university
In its latest report on the research activity in the Spanish university system, the IUNE Observatory confirms the outstanding progress of the UCLM on research and innovation for the period 2010-2013, being among the Top 20 Spanish universities in most dimensions such as scientific activity, competitiveness in attracting research projects, the training capacity on research or innovative activity.

28.7% reduction amounting 10.4 million over the previous year
According to the “Statistics of Scholarships and Study Grants”, released last week by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, 12,415 scholarship and study grants holders at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) received 26,245,900 euros in the 2013-2014 year, representing a reduction of 10,411,100 euros over the previous year, which amounted to 36.657 million euros. The Ministry reduced its contribution in 5,718,500 euros to the students at the UCLM and the regional government reduced the 4,692,600 remaining euros. According to two reports elaborated by the Knowledge and Development Foundation
The Knowledge and Development Foundation (FCYD) has indicated, in recent reports, that Castilla-La Mancha is, along with Catalonia, the first Spanish region in which the graduates have a higher activity rate; the second region in which the chance of having an occupation by the fact of being in possession of a university degree has increased; and the third autonomous community in which the graduates find more highly qualified jobs, only behind Navarre and Catalonia.

According to the CWUR ranking, the academic institution moves forward 32 positions worldwide and 2 nationally
The University of Castilla – La Mancha (UCLM) appears, for the second consecutive year, in the prestigious ranking CWUR, which classifies the best 1,000 universities worldwide that stand out, particularly, for their education quality. The ranking, which has been published recently, has included less Spanish universities in this edition. Despite this, the UCLM forwards 32 positions worldwide standing at 738. It has also made a progress of 2 positions within the Spanish university system standing at 27. This ranking gives most of the punctuation to aspects related to the teaching quality, the quality of the jobs obtained by the graduates and the academic staff quality positioning at 367, 567 and 218 worldwide respectively.

According to the Leiden ranking, the academic institution moves forward 84 positions worldwide and 5 nationally
The University of Castilla – La Mancha (UCLM) appears, for the second year in a row, at the prestigious ranking Leiden, which measures the impact and scientific collaboration of universities worldwide. The ranking includes 750 universities, appearing just 28 Spanish universities among them. The UCLM is in the 529 position in the 2015 edition, which confirms an improvement of 84 positions worldwide over the previous edition in which appeared in the 613 position. Within the Spanish university system, it forwards 5 positions to stand at 21st position in 2015 from the 26th in the previous one.

Leadership on Opening, Awards and Research Development
In the first weeks of July, the reports about the Spanish universities, elaborated by the Conference of Spanish Universities Rectors (CRUE) and the Knowledge and Development Foundation (FCYD), were presented. Both reports analyse thoroughly the Spanish University System with numbers and statistics. As significant results, it is noted that the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) is the most open in terms of its Teaching and Research staff training, one of the most awarded universities on research standing in the first position in the Sciences field, improving in scientific publications in the last 10 years.
